City Hall latest… 

  • It is Fall Leaf Pick time – come and get your free leaf bags (8 each) at the City Hall; Tony will pick up the bags at the curb side on Tuesdays and Thursdays during November and early December.
  • The City Council passed the Safe and Welcoming Community resolution at the Special Council Meeting on October 14th; you can find the resolution on the city web site.
  • Gold Hill Municipal Court becomes active again on November 1st. Jen Zammetti is our Judge and Carry Randall will serve as the court clerk.  The court’s main focus will be code violations and traffic related cases. 
  • The Gold Hill Sheriff Sub-Station will open with limited office hours: Monday 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Wednesday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.; Thursday 1:00 p.m. – 5 p.m.; and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to Noon. If you would like to volunteer for a four hour shift, contact Carry at the City Hall.
  • The city is still looking for volunteers to serve on various boards and commissions; applications are available at the City Hall.

CITY COUNCIL GOALS UPDATE

 Goal #1 Hire a City Manager – completed 

Goal #2 Complete Past Audits – FY16-17 Audit is complete; work on the FY 17-18 Audit is progressing well with a trial balance and adjusting entries fully completed -- it is scheduled to be completed by December; FY18-19 Audit preparation has commenced - it has a reporting deadline of December 31st, but the City may apply for an extension. 

Goal #3 Wastewater Facilities Plan final copy has been forwarded to state DEQ review. 

Goal #4 Work on the Water Facilities Plan has started and is now scheduled to come to Council in November. 

Goal #5 Community Visioning Project - Council has met twice on this project but more work is still ahead. 

Goal #6 Create a Comprehensive Plan for Gold Hill; planning will commence as soon as the Planning Commission is seated.
